Here's how it began: AUDISEE founder and president, Peter B. Lewis tells it this way: "We began talking about the Coke Pavilion in the summer of 2006. Ralph and I dreamed up the whole thing on three long SKYPE calls over the course of two days. We wrote it up and passed it over to Kevin who created the spaces for our Designed Experience. After that, I just continued with my usual business." Then one day, Peter got a phone call. "I've got good news and bad news." It was my friend, client and co-conspirator of 20 years, Ralph Miller, calling from Beijing , China in December, 2006. "Oh?" I inquired, "What's up?" "We're doing Coca-Cola on the Olympic Green, a 40,000 sq. foot two story structure to be designed by Kevin West." "Fantastic, and the bad news is.?" "We're doing Coca-Cola on the Olympic Green -the client really loves the Experience we designed and now we have to actually do it!!" "And the other piece of news is, adidas flipped for our Spiral Theater idea and they want us to design the experience for their whole building! The really good news is the two pavilions are physically right next door to each other!" "So," I ask, "we're doing TWO exhibitors on the Olympic Green in Beijing ?" "That's the plan," says Ralph Thus began an 18 month roller-coaster ride and my own personal Olympic Experience - with it's nearly insurmountable challenges and obstacles topped off with deep emotions: after giving my all, I ran through the finish line victorious!
